The Namesake

In the background we hear from other family members and from people he meets. This seemed like a writer who was trying way too hard. For me the book finally became poetry, not of word, though the use of language is often exquisite, but of narrative detail. There is no cash alternative to any download. This book is quirky and cute and Oskar is really lovable.

Oscar the protagonist is an interesting character and you certainly feel his loss but his mission comes to a end in a bit of a whimper. Intriguing idea, well written, weak story. But I don't feel I can give more stars for a book I'm disliking so much.
